GRAND PRECEPTORS COUNCIL PROVINCE OF THE SOUTH MIDLANDS MEETING 29th AUGUST 2026 AT NORTHAMPTON

The venue was a purpose-built Masonic building situated on an industrial trading estate but once inside the door it was very clear that a lot of thought had gone into the design of the building , so much so in fact that there were numerous temples and is very well equipped with additional robing rooms, meeting rooms and dining areas and bars as well as the Provincial Offices for Craft and Chapter

The areas also consisted of full length partitions which could be opened to create space for 300 Masons

Additionally the roof is covered in solar panels which results in the building being able to sell excess energy back to the Grid

Due to the planning its possible to alter the air con in every room, allowing the heating or cooling of only the rooms in use

Other Provinces have already visited for the specific purpose of studying the building as an option to plan a similar system in their own Provinces as it’s proved so successful and efficient

The business case was built solely on income from Masonic events

Overall an impressive well designed building

The Sir Knights who attended the meeting were treated to a well planned Grand Preceptors meeting with the normal agenda items, and the Rt Worshipful Grand Preceptors address was succinct and showed a small rise of Sir Knights as well as ongoing plans to increase retention and increase the footprint size of this recently founded Province
